MARY ELLEN ADAMS, 68, Gate City, VA, went home to be with the Lord February 17, 2015 at Wellmont Medical Center.

She was born in Scott County, VA, and was a daughter of the late George L. and Rena Nickels Gibson.

She was a member of Poplar Grove Church in Kingsport.

A loving, caring Christian, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she was loved by all.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Eugene Gibson and Lidge Gibson; 2 sisters, Pauline Gibson Mossie and Maxie Gibson Dockery.

She is survived by her husband, Austin Adams; 2 sons, David and Micky Carrico; 3 stepchildren; 1 grandson; 1 granddaughter; 8 step grandchildren; 2 brothers Ralph and Kyle Gibson; 2 sisters, Kathleen Gillenwater and Phyllis Sluss; several nieces and nephews.

She is greatly missed by her family and friends.
