MARY ELLA WELLS ARNOLD, 83, Gate City, VA, passed away June 4, 2015 at NOVA Health and Rehabilitation in Weber City, VA.

Mary was born in Scott County, VA, on August 17, 1931, and was a daughter of the late Rev. Mitchell and Alice Rhoton Sloan.

In addition to her parents, her first husband, Elder L. C. Wells; 1 son, Larry Cecil Wells; her second husband, John C. Arnold; and 1 stepson, John C. Arnold, Jr. preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Rick Wells; 1 stepdaughter, Jane Roberts; 2 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren; 5 sisters, Opal S. McClain, Virginia Clendenin, Juanita Gilliam, Shirley Shelton, and Wilma Jones; 2 brothers, Olen Sloan and Richard Sloan, along with several nieces and nephews.

Mary was a true friend to her neighbors and everyone who came in contact with her. She is greatly missed by all who knew her.
