RUBY OSBORNE ORR, age 97, of Jonesville, VA, passed away on December 23, 2014 at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, TN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred M. Orr; 1 son, Bobby Ray Orr; her parents, Dr. Andrew J. and Ollie Osborne; 3 sisters, Lizzie Johnson, Rose Poteet and a sister that died in infancy; 2 brothers, Henry and Arthur Osborne; and numerous cousins, nephews and grandchildren.

She is survived by 2 sons, Ralph and John Orr; 2 daughters, Carrie Efford and Mary Van Tassel; 9 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Ruby was a person of great faith that credits God with every good thing that has ever happened to her in life. Her life is a testimony of that through her many years as a midwife, and a nurse with Dr. Thomas Ely, and in other areas of medical and Christian service. She joined Blackwater Lick (Big Door) Church in February, 1932 and remained a proud member throughout her life.

Ruby is truly missed by her family, church family, friends and loved ones. She was indeed a treasure to know and be around. We know she is resting in her new home and we will see her again on Heaven’s bright shore.
