CALVIN BROWNLOW LAWSON, age 85, of Dryden, VA, passed away on May 7, 2016 at Lonesome Pine Hospital. He was a member of Valley View Church. He was a lifelong resident of Lee County and a retired Coal Miner from Westmoreland Coal Company with 23 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin Kyle and Nannie Carrie Lawson; 7 brothers and 5 sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Wilma Jean Lawson; 1 daughter, Judith Marie Lawson; 1 grandson; 1 brother, Billy Gene Lawson; several nieces and nephews, and special friend.

Brownlow enjoyed worshipping with his church family and especially enjoyed his Tuesday morning Bible study time with the gentlemen.
