EVELYN FAYE SHAW, age 79, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away peacefully on May 5th, 2016 at her residence with her daughter and grandchildren at her side. She was born May 22, 1936 in Pedro, Ohio, and was raised in New Burlington, Ohio by her mother and step father, Maymie and George DeLong.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Don Messer.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Elder Harold L. Shaw; 3 children, William Shaw, Peggy Shaw-McBee, and Philip Shaw; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

She graduated from Spring Valley High School, OH. Mom loved depression glassware, jewelry, gardening, flowers, and above all the Lord. She enjoyed canning the food she grew—it so pleased her to hear the ‘ping’ of the jars. She was a very active member in the churches where Dad pastored. Mom was very family oriented and was the glue for the family.

Mothers hold their children’s hands for a short while, but their hearts forever. Although our hearts are heavy with sorrow for our loss, God has gained a beautiful angel.
