ELDER JOHN TURNER of Carlisle, Ohio was born January 21, 1936 in Breathitt County Kentucky. He left this world to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 7, 2016.

John was a member and pastor of Rose Chapel Church in West Carrollton, Ohio for 33 years. He was a true Christian, and a man of God. He had been preaching for 60 years and pastored several churches.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Maude; 5 daughters, Anita Newkirk, Marcella Simpson, Loretta Eastridge, Melissa Jarvis and Jessica Moss; 1 son, Rick Turner, his family, church family; and many friends.

John was so good to share his pulpit with his preaching brethren, especially to new young preachers. He was there to help them in any way he could. As he was crossing ol' Jordan we were singing his song, It is better "Farther On."
