RUTH B. HOOD, our beloved mother, age 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior, reuniting with her late husband and the love of her life, Garley H. Hood, Sr. She went peacefully the evening of March 16, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was valedictorian of her Fairview High School. She was a homemaker who enjoyed 62 Minutes of the One Hundred Sixty Fifth Annual Session gardening, flowers, cooking, canning, sewing and spending time with family and friends.

She was a woman of strong faith and loved going to church at Roller’s Chapel Church where she was the oldest living member.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Phyllis Bledsoe, Glenda Speers, and Karen Hood; 2 sons, G. H. Hood, Jr. and Edgar Hood; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was a remarkable woman and most of all, a wonderful mother. We will never forget her and think of her daily, until we meet again one day on heaven’s bright shores.
