EDWARD "EDDY" DWIGHT GILES was born August 10, 1946 and departed this life May 10, 2011 at the age of 64 years and 9 months. He was the son of Ray Giles and Ruby Phillips Giles.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Benny Giles. His mother outlived him by almost 2½ months.

He is survived by 2 sons, Jarrod and Travis Giles; 1 brother, David Giles; 1 grandson; several cousins, 1 nephew and a host of friends.

Eddy was retired from the Wise County, Virginia school system, but was still active as a school bus driver, a member of the Big Stone Gap Town Council and a member of the Habitat for Humanity.

He was saved at a young age and was very active in the Ayers Chapel Church, where he served as song leader, Sunday School Teacher and any capacity where he could be of benefit to God and his fellow church members. His race having been finished, he is now at rest in the presence of the Lord awaiting the great day of resurrection.
