ELIZA “GRANNY” BURKE departed this walk of life with her Lord and Savior August 15, 2012 at the age of 97 years and one month. She was born July 16, 1915 in Lee County, VA.

Eliza loved her flowers and gospel music. She was saved in her younger life and joined Davis Chapel Church.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ben Burke; infant twin boys; 1 son, Tommy; parents, Peter and Florence Lambert; 3 brothers, Arthur Ray, Jim and Gale; 4 sisters, Nanabelle, Eva, Margie and Cora Lambert.

She leaves to mourn her passing 4 daughters, Emogene Mitchell, Ruth Vincent, Peggy Bowers and Susie Campbell; 14 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
