ROY JETER, SR. was born May 15, 1912 and passed from this life January 27, 2012 at the age of 99 years, 8 months and 15 days.

He was saved at the age of 19 and was a member of Mt. Mitchell Church. Roy was the last surviving founder of Mt. Mitchell.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Nannie Jeter; 1 son, Roy Jeter, Jr.; 1 daughter, Joyce Byington; parents, James and Katherene Jeter; 1 sister, Mae Duncan; 2 brothers, Daniel Craft and Herman Jeter.

He is survived by 1 son, Ralph Jeter; 1 daughter, Jeanette Trent; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Roy was the last surviving member of his family generation.
