BESSIE LANEY, 87, of Louisa, the daughter of the late Dave and Nora Dove Fraley Fitch of Peach Orchard, was born February 18, 1926 and passed from this world for her eternal home February 17, 2014 after a short illness.

Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Milton Laney; 3 sons, David, Melvin and Mikey; 1 daughter, Janie; 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter.

She is survived by 4 daughters, Junell May, Annie Dutton, Louella Step and Mickey Rose; 19 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 1 brother, Milton Fitch; many nephews and nieces and a great host of her extended family that are hid with Christ in God, some on this side and others that await with her on the other side for us to gather forever in our heavenly home.

Bessie and Milton often sang as their part in the service of the Lord or testified of what the Lord had done for them, during which Bessie shouted for the victory to come, not for the battle or sickness, but for the victory. So often when they sang, the church rejoiced in God our Savior. Looking for that blessed hope that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
