EARL JOHNSON, son of Minter and Elizabeth Osborne Johnson, was born October 8, 1930 in Blackwater, VA. He went to be with his Lord and Savior July 28, 2014 at the age of 83 years, 9 months and 20 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Naomi, and 2 brothers, George Andrew and Burley Johnson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Draxie Johnson; 1 daughter, Angela Johnson, who was the love of his life; 1 sister, Bertha Creech; 1 niece, 1 nephew and many dear friends.

Earl was saved, as was Draxie, in a revival at Blackwater Lick Church about the year 1958. They joined the church, were baptized, and were faithful members until moving to Fairfax, VA where Earl worked for the Fairfax County School System until retiring in 1988. After moving to Kingsport, TN, he joined West View Church and remained a loyal, faithful member until his health prevented him from attending. Even then, he was intently interested in the church and the Eastern District Association, which he looked forward to attending each year.

We will meet again in a land where there is no more death, pain, sickness or parting, and none will ever grow old.
