JAY TANKERSLEY was born August 27, 1939 and departed this life May 23, 2014 and went home to be with the Lord.

He was saved at an early age and was a member of Willis Chapel Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Erma Robinson Tankersley.

He is survived by 1 son, Jay Tankersley, Jr. and 1 daughter, Avanelle Parker; 5 grandsons; 1 great grandson; 1 brother, Carl Tankersley; 1 sister, Mobee Tankersley Bledsoe; 3 nephews and 1 niece, as well as a host of family and friends.

Jay loved the Lord and enjoyed going to church and spending time with his family. He is gone from this side of life, but his spirit will always remain in our hearts. Resting peacefully in the arms of our Lord and Savior in a land that knows no sorrow or pain, and one day we'll meet again on Heaven's bright shore.
