BENNY MORELOCK, 71, was born January 5, 1948, and departed this life March 16, 2019. He was the son of the late Ray and Mary Alice Morelock.

He joined Mt. Mitchell Church September 5, 2010 where he was a devoted member and served as a song leader.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.

Survivors include 3 brothers, Dillard, Malcolm, and Jim; 3 sisters, Ethel Roop, Peggy Duncan, and Bobby Crawford.

Benny was a disabled veteran, serving in the Iraq Conflict. He was well known in the community. He never met a stranger.
