ELDER DONALD LOWELL JOHNSON, age 69, went to be with the Lord on January 8, 2018. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Mary Ann Johnson and his sister, Nadine Johnson. Don was saved as a teenager at his family home in Morristown, TN, while kneeling near a blue couch when family friend Rev. Willis Lamb brought Don and his dad home after their car had broken down. Don announced his calling to preach at 30 and has been preaching God’s word for 39 years. He was a member and co-pastor of New Life Primitive Baptist Church and pastored many churches throughout his life. Don served in the Army reserves for 35 years and retired after 27 years from the LEAR Corporation, where he served as a technician and union president for many years. After retirement, Don enjoyed playing golf, fishing, discussing the Bible, and spending time with his 3 granddaughters who were the center of his world.

Don leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Janice Johnson; son, Gregory Johnson; daughter, Greta Dean; granddaughters, Tori, Kassi, and Kadee Dean; brothers Jerry (Faye) Johnson and Terry (Dorothy) Johnson; sisters, Phyllis (Wylie) Lampkins and Doris Metcalf; a host of nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in Christ, and friends.
