JOHN WAYNE SHELTON, 72, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at his residence following a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and retired from Eastman Chemical Company. John was a member of Poplar Grove Primitive Baptist Church.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Clement and Lucille Weems Shelton; brother Tony Shelton; his first wife and mother of his children, Judy Shelton.

John is survived by his wife, Amy Davenport Shelton; sons John W. Shelton II and Joel Shelton; sister Isabel Conley; granddaughter Brooklyn Shelton; niece Michelle Stanley; nephews Tony Shelton, William Conley Jr.; step children Sabrina Fields, Paul Surcey; several nieces and cousins; step-grandchildren Bryson, Trinity, and Hunter.
