ROLAND DEWAYNE PALMER, 94, went to be with the Lord on November 14, 2018. Born in Richmond, Ind. He lived most of his life in the Kingsport area. He was a proud US Navy veteran, having served in WWII. Roland was a member of Copper Creek Primitive Baptist Church, faithfully attending as long as he was able. He enjoyed life and never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary J. Palmer.

He was survived by his wife of 16 years, JoAnn Stapleton Palmer; daughters Susan Chandler (Robert) and Patty Hutchens (Mark); sons William Smith (Lisa) and David Palmer (Diane); stepsons, Paul Jennings (Della) and Terry Jennings; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 special granddaughters, Amanda Dockery and Lori Jennings; several nieces and nephews.

Roland was loved by all and is sorely missed. He is resting with the Lord, and we will be meeting him soon. Many sweet memories will remain until then.
