DON STOKES, 77, was born on August 12, 1942 and departed this life on May 10, 2020. He was a veteran of the United States Army and would often tell of his many experiences while serving his country.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Stokes; daughter, Anita Gillenwater; son, Rick Stokes; grandchildren, David Lee Gillenwater, Aaron and Braden Stokes; great-grandchildren, Maylee and Ella Gillenwater.

Don was a dedicated member of Rollers Chapel Church. He loved to open the service by reading scripture and asking for prayer requests. It gave him great joy to be able to work in the church. He battled many health issues, largely from kidney transplants, but Don would use this as a way to witness to people about the Lord’s goodness in his life. Don’s presence is missed among us, but we know he is free from the afflictions of his body, and one day we will meet him on Heaven’s bright shore.
