Ezra S. Summey

May 19, 1975 - August 27, 2022

EZRA S. SUMMEY, better known as Pork Chop, Chop, or Ez, was born May 19, 1975, to Bobbie and the late Charles Summey. He left this world for his new home on August 27, 2022. He was the youngest of four boys but not the smallest.

He attended Blackwater Lick Church where his wife is a member.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Summey; brother, Keith Summey; his grandparents; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ezra loved to laugh, and his big personality and smile were the first things you noticed when he entered the room. He loved to fish, hunt, and camp. He was a kind soul who loved his family and friends. He graduated from Twin Springs High School where he excelled on the gridiron. He then studied welding at Mountain Empire Community College. He worked as a skilled welder, an OR technician, and a skilled glass handler. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union, where he served as steward until the Glass Plant closed its doors. He then found his calling as a dedicated student transportation engineer, driving Bus #71, where he would give his signature fist-bump to all his kiddos as they exited the bus.

Thanks to those that were with Ezra and Kim, and for those who were there in spirit, as he transitioned from this earthly vessel into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father where he will forever walk the streets of gold. We look forward to seeing him again on Heaven’s bright shore.
