JOHN EVERETT (J.E.) McPEEK, born August 5, 1931, went to be with the Lord April 15, 2022, at his residence following his battle with cancer.

He was a member of Long Hollow Church and attended Bass Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. He was a lifelong farmer and the owner of McPeek Logging for over 70 years. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Carter and Alva (Christian) McPeek; wife, Mary Helen (Hickman); sons, George Everett, Samuel Doyle and Randy Keith; and daughter, Mary Elizabeth McPeek.

He is survived by his current wife, Janet Rae (Dunn) McPeek; sons, Stanley (Janie) Wendell and Johnny (Pamela) Matthews; daughter-in-law, Nancy (Clear) McPeek; brother, James Corbin McPeek; 12 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
