Millard Ray "Boot" Hall

October 3, 1930 - January 25, 2024

MILLARD RAY “BOOT” HALL, of the Wallens Creek Community of Jonesville, VA went home to be with the Lord on Thursday January 25, 2024.

He was born on October 3, 1930 in Blackwater, VA to the late Elder Hobart Hall and Winnie Baker Hall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June Willis Hall, brothers, Charles Hall and Billy Jack Hall, sisters Virginia Osbourne and Juanita Brown Howard, and a former son-in-law Darrell Musick.

Millard Ray was saved on January 30, 1945 in a revival meeting at Willis Chapel. He served there as a Deacon for over 40 years and served as secretary and treasurer for many years. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. Millard was a farmer for most of his life and had retired from Powell Valley electric cooperative. He will be remembered for his vast knowledge of the history of Hancock County, TN, Lee County, VA and the surrounding areas. He was an author who had published two books and written countless poems and essays over the years. He loved to talk about the bible and to share his faith. He always enjoyed a good conversation, a joke, and a laugh with anyone he would meet.

He is survived by daughters Judy Rhea Fee and Lisa Ann May and husband Joe; granddaughters, Samantha Loveday, Holly Arthur and Husband Jonathan; great-grandsons, Nolan and Lennox Loveday and Franklin Arthur; Sister Betty Jean Leach; brother David Hall and wife Connie; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

There were many people who cared for and looked after Millard. A special thank you is extended to Elaine Davis and to the many friend and relatives who helped look after him.
